A local nonprofit organization founded in 2001, is dedicated to improving lives through the transformative power of the human-dog connection. Our mission is to create a community where every person who can benefit from a dog has the opportunity, and every dog fulfills its potential. We achieve this through two core programs: our Animal-Assisted Interventions (AAI) and our Youth-Canine Programs. AAI, commonly known as Pet Therapy, trains and mobilizes registered therapy teams to individuals of all ages and abilities. Our Youth–Canine Programs teaches young people how to train shelter dogs through positive reinforcement behaviors. As a volunteer-centric organization, we collaborate with schools, libraries, hospitals, detention centers, youth agencies, humane societies, and more, emphasizing the profound impact of the human-animal bond on community health and wellness.
